Any chance this is a RED headed woodpecker?????
Sorry about the focus, my hands aren't as steady as I would like them to be.
Sigma 70-300 f4-5.6. 300 mm, 1/1000 @ f11, ISO 400. Any advice would be appreciated.

That woodpecker has chosen a dangerous place for a home, that's a powerline pole isn't it? I'm interested in picking up a monopod, I'm sure that would help with the steady hands - I konw I need the help. I like the photo.

I think it's a red-bellied woodpecker.
