That's a mighty small front element for a 200mm f/1.4 ;)
Yeah right? :D

200 f/1.4 should be about the same diameter as a 400 f/2.8.
The weight looks about right...

Wow, if true that would be a sport photog's dream lens. 70-200 f/2.8 be damned! 200mm @ f/1.4.... wow. I bet the sticker price on this one is gonna be steep. I'm guessing $5000-6000.
There are a couple of things that concern me. While the product photo's look very real, the ad at the bottom has some issues. First it says the lens uses a 105mm filter. That would be to small, as 200mm f/1.4 would have a front element in size of about 143mm. If the lens uses a 105mm filter, then it may suggest that the 80-200 is a variable aperature lens with f/1.4 aperature on the wide end, but f/2.0 at the tele end. Having f/2.0 at 200mm jives more with the 105mm filter size.
Second it says the lens is ready for sale in 2011. That seems like an awful long time away if product information is already being leaked. That is nearly 2 years from now. Canon announced the 200mm f/2.0 and 800mm f/5.6 much further in advance than they normally do for new lens releases, but even still I believe that it was still within a year when the lenses were announced to when they were actually hitting the market.

this should prove to be interesting. ill eagerly await the release of such a beast. i wonder if nikon/canon will respond with anything of the like.

Doesn't sony have built in IS? That's what makes me think this is fake...it has an IS switch on the side, and sony calls their stabilisation system "Steady Shot"

nobody has ever even made a 200mm f1.4 prime, so this has to be fake.

Agreed. The math doesn't add up!

Maybe it is a drop in filter?

Yeah which means it's totally not possible.
