im thinking for in the future when i get the grip for the xt i wanna get a pack or a set of batteries as well.
now canons is 7.4 volt i believe and sterlingtek is 7.2.

are there any good batteries for the xt which are 7.4 volt like the original canon.
thanks in advance

i was told by sterlingtek that theyre canon rebel xt battery is 1500mah and "The voltage of this adapter is 7.4V. "

so if theyre wrong then they lied via email.

their website says differently look:
Model # NB-2L, NB-2LH Equivalent ( ST-NB-2LH)
Specifications 7.2V Li-Ion 1100mAh
Technology NoMem Lithium-Ion
Suggested Retail Price $69.99
Dimensions 1.3" x 1.8" x 0.6"

7.2 volt not 7.4
hmm maybe ill just pay for a canon one..after all in the future

i emailed them about that... and they said the email was correct:
I just noticed you said the battery is 1500mah in
the email and your
website says 1100 mah.

which is correct?

thanks!

Hello,
It is 1500.
Thank you,
Jessica

I bought from SterlingTek and have had no issues with mine. They charge on the stock charger and last as long as the stock battery. In fact, I am going to get 2 more so I have a full backup set for my battery grip.

I have no problems with sterlingtek batteries for the 20D, they work well for me. Lately every battery seems to be going flat quite quickly, Canon and aftermarket, not sure what's going on there - any ideas? I haven't actually done any tests, it could be my imagination.

Canon and Sterlingtek batteries are both EXACTLY the same voltage!

The Lithium Ion electro-chemical reaction produces the same voltage per cell regardless of manufacturer, but the numbers can be different depending on how you choose to measure and label it.

I have seen NiMH AA cells rated at 1.25V and others 1.2V, but they are the same as each other regardless of labelling. The voltage is not exact and is higher straight off the charger than when almost exhausted. The manufacturers of electronics know this and design their devices to work with a range of voltages. A device designed to run on 4 x AA cells may work perfectly with 3.6 to 7 volts, another device also running on 4 x AA cells may work on 4.2 to 6.2 volts, but there always has to be some leeway to allow for different voltage due to different state of charge.

In short: with batteries you can ignore the difference between 7.2 and 7.4 as a labelling issue rather than a difference in actual voltage.

You using the grip? It gives many of us a very early "Low Battery", and doesn't always draw from both the batteries.

Nope, no grip.

I ordered 2 from SterlingTek, but haven't used them yet.

Did you know that if you search for the battery through pricegrabber.com, and then select SterlingTek as the vendor, you can buy the battery for $10.49 instead of $19.99!

I heard some bad things about the grip somewhere on this site. Like they over amped the camera or something. Then again maybe it was in a dream.

"over amped the camera"? You didn't hear that here. The 20D's BG-E2 may give false low-battery warnings, fail to use both batteries, or pull away from the camera's battery contacts causing a lockup, but I haven't heard anyone claim that it forced too much power into the camera.

I agree with Nater. Go to pricegrabber.com, look for SterlingTek. I have bought batteries for both the XT and 20D from them. Great value. I can see no difference in performance from the Canon batteries. Very good customer service and fast shipping. Highly recommended.

I just did the PriceGrabber/SterlingTek dance...it's a good find I think?

I question because on the PriceGrabber checkout it states: NB-2LH Lithium-Ion Battery (7.4v 720mAh)

Note the 720mAH rating....while over at SterlingTek website they show the only XR battery for sale rated at 1100mAH. So are they selling two with different rated batteries....the 720mAH rated via PriceGrabber and the higher rated 1100mAH directly?

http://store.yahoo.com/sterlingtek/canbeqba80.html

It's still a good deal for the 720mAH but just wondering?

I emailed SterlingTek...here's their response...cool if sending 1500mah batteries:

Hello,
You will actually be getting a 1500mAh battery.
If you have any further questions please feel free to
call us.

Thank You,

I ordered 1500mah batteries from sterlingtek, and 1800mah ones turn up. I guess the website can get a little out of date at times, but i'm not complaining :)

Just an update. Recieved my three batteries, man-oh-man they were quick! Got the 1500mah batteries as promised. Excellent! Going through PriceGrabber as mentioned above saved me $30.00+.

Thanks for the tip!
