I have looked on the Canon website and it only lists 2 service centers in the US. One is in in NJ and another is in CA.

I thought they had authorized service centers or other shops aorund the US.

Is there a listing of these authorized centers, for cleaning of a 20D. I can clean the sensor, but I still have dust on the mirrors and inside, the body, and then on the sensor soon after again.

I am in Toledo, Ohio near the border of Michigan. So either in Ohio or near Detroit if needed.

Thanks

Calif and NJ is it. Get used to cleaning your camera. Dust is a fact of life. Canon will take a minimum of two weeks turn around to clean it and there's no guarantee it will come back cleaner.

Here's a copy and paste from Canon's website. It's a little hard to find. There's factory service in CA but I don't have the info at this time.

"We recommend that before you send your equipment in for repairs, you speak with a Customer Support Representative to be sure that your unit is in need of service. For assistance, please call 1 (800) 828-4040. It is not necessary to call the Factory Service Center prior to sending in your repair."

I'm in Detroit and had to send a lens in for repair once. On their site, I found an authorized service center in Wyandotte. I am not sure if it is only listed for lenses... let me check and I'll post back a link if I can find it. If not, I will try to find my reciept and post the info.

Well, it seems like their service center listings differ by the product you enter. This link shows one in IL... Nevermind, it won't paste. In any case, do a seach for a service center for a 50 1.4USM. That should get you something closer.

FYI, California center is:

Canon Factory Service
15955 Alton Parkway
Irvine, CA 92618

949/753-4200

Cross your fingers for me, I'm sending my EOS in for an Error 99 lobotomy.

The two factory service centers are listed in messages below.

When I called Canon, they cleared up the question (I had it too), the Factory Authorized Repair Centers are for other products, not digital cameras.

For digital cameras, they must go to Canon directly, that means New Jersey or California:

Canon Factory Service
15955 Alton Parkway
Irvine, CA 92618

949/753-4200
