My 20D that I bought in November has a problem. The PC plug-in wiggles so the sync cord doesn't make a reliable connection so my strobes don't fire all the time. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
Thanks.

Did you try a different synch cord? Also be careful of older/high voltage flashes. Though the 20D is supposed to be OK up to a point. I have the Wein Safe Synch and it works fine.

The PC connection should be very snug. You either have a bad cord or a bad PC socket in the camera. In addition, you can get a better connection if you bend the center post a little to one side.

Use pliers to carefully squeeze the outer part of the PC plug together closer. I had to do that to mine because it was so loose it would fall out of the camera when I shot in portrait orientation.

Yep, just pinch in the outer metal part of the PC plug on the cable (not your camera). They do loosen off over time.

A small piece of duct tape will also help to keep it on. Either across the wire before the sync plug or right over the plug. Just don't forget you are still attached and walk away from the strobes with camera in hand. Not a good thing.......

There is a small tool you can purchase that tightens the pc cord end while not squareing it off.

There is a small tool you can purchase called a PC Tip Conditioner, that tightens the pc cord end while not squareing it off.

Thanks for your replies.
The socket in the camera is loose. I guess I'll have to have Canon repair it.

whatever you do, don't use your teeth to tighten the connector on the cord... lol I did :D (I'm not missing teeth, but let's just say it wasn't a pleasant experience).
