Sorry if someone else has already posted this... but I ran across this video-taped studio photography seminar on you tube by Dave Morris, and I think it's just fantastic for beginners like myself. There are 6 parts and I have the link here to part one, you can choose the rest from "Morris Studios" video selection. Each clip is about 10 min long and packed full of great techniques, tips and information ....it's the best I've seen so far so check it out!;)

Pretty good (esp. for free), but he seems to have some confusion over color space.

Killed an hour at work anyway. :p

He talks about switching the camera to "RGB" (aRGB I'm guessing) instead of the default sRGB but then goes on to say he only ever shoots in RAW. A RAW file has no color space, its "assigned" as part of the conversion process.

He then contradicts the "RAW only" statement by saying he does shoot in JPG when he knows the pictures will never leave the computer (such as his kid's birthday pics), but aRGB is not the best for general computer use (email/web etc) which is geared towards the sRGB color space.

I shoot everything RAW and target the appropriate color space for the image's intended use.
