Mine are:

1- Giottos Rocket Air (blower). In terms of usefulness, it's worth a lot more than $9.99 it costs.

2- Gray cards. Didn't expect them to work so well, and they make a huge difference for indoor photography. They are worth every $ of the ~$12 they cost.

So what are your favorite small purchases.

Edited the name of cards for WB.

EOS M42 adapter ... 30$

Allows me to use cheap manual focus M42 lenses on my 20D :D
Of course, it won't work without the lenses..

Best regards,
Andy

Giottos Rocket Blower.

And how about the small amount of $$$ I sent to Pekka to help with Server Costs? I learn more from this Forum than I ever imagined possible. I think that counts.

50 bucks vivitar 285?

Not that small, but works just as well as EX 550/580 if you have time to look at your histogram and re-shoot.

And not I don't even have to do that!

Delkin's eFilm AA battery tote (http://www.penncamera.com/store/item.asp?ITEM_ID=4599) for all the batteries for my flashes. Oh, and a couple of boxes of Sucrets for the BP-511s.

I just picked up a 70-210mm f/4-5.6 zoom lens for my Pentax K1000, including UV filter -- for $27... I wish I could get a similar deal on the 70-200 f/2.8 IS for my 20D!

Two sets of decent rechargeable AA NiMH batteries for the 550EX (though one set has since been nicked by one of the kids!)

The wired remote release for my 300D. Love that damn thing...

WB cards? I've heard of an expo disc for WB, but they are much more expensive. Where did you get them?

Top of my list would be my Lenspen. Then the builder's line level bought from a hardware store for a fraction of what a photography specific level costs. I just balance it on top of the hotshoe to check if I'm level. The only problem is that if is very light and blows off if it is windy.

Best little purchase I made was a padded fanny pack. Holds my telephoto, and several pockets to stuff filters, lens caps, batteries, and whatever else. I rarely have to haul my camera bag with me in the field anymore.

Cost: $10 at Wally World.

Gloves. Seriously. For all the times that I have to move things around when I am shooting on location or even just getting my gear out of the trunk. Whether it is hot metal, sharp edges, horse poop or just a wet tripod my work gloves are my best friends in the field.

Definately the BEST $5 ever spend by the hand of man.

Oh, a grey card - already got one, but don't use it for white balance. I thought maybe there was another little gizmo out there to use that I didn't know about. I have actually been using coffee filters to WB - they work good too.

It was on the top of my list too...

I stopped using it after it gave me a long fine circular scratch on the back element of my 70-200 2.8

Changed the name of the cards in my original post. Thanks for the correction.

Ouch! I make a point of making sure I brush off any dust before using the pen, but then I suppose you did too. What do you use now?

I have a Henry's microfiber cloth and their cleaning solution... I don't like it...

It leaves marks and microfibers on the lens... And potentially I can still scratch my lens if some hard particles get on the cloth...

I keep delaying ordering ROR and those small single use cleaning cloths.

This might not seem like a small amount but, an assistant who knows my next move and thought. They also watch the equipment. For the last few years, we have had a few theft rings working weddings here in NY. For $125 - $150, worth every penny.
