That was the most time consuming purchase I have ever made! Also the most expensive mail-order I've done.

I said yes to the extra warranty - $149.00. Has anyone here bought this warranty and has had to use it?

They are charging me $135 to get it to Seattle 2 day UPS. Hopefully, it will arrive in good condition.

I'm going to take Thursday through Wednesday off of work! :)

Congratulations! You're going to really enjoy this equipment.

Regarding the extended warranty, I'm not sure that anyone has owned a 1DM2 long enough to test the waters on an extended warranty. It's nice that you'll have the piece of mind that comes with the policy, but you probably won't need it. The camera is extremely well made; I love mine.

I thought very long and hard about the lenses I picked out. I hope they are going to be a good match for the 1D MK II.

I just got off the phone with www.2filter.com (http://www.2filter.com/) and spoke with a very nice lady who did give me a break on the 2-day shipping. I saved something like $70 by buying the filters from them instead of B&H. B&H was out of stock on a couple of them. I'll let you all know when I get them, but so far, I would highly recommend them.

Those lenses are a good match for the MkII so no worries there at all though you may at some time regret not spending the extra on the 70-200 2.8 which gives the versatility of adding a 1.4x telecon and add a bit more low light coverage.

Thats a nice shopping list!

Ok I have decided that Canon HAS to anounce a replacement for this camera!

That way the price will drop a couple Ks and I can afford one. :)

Thats a nice shopping list!Chris: I thought about the 2.8/IS version of that lens, but all the reviews I read, people were saying the picture quality was just as good, and the reduced weight and cost savings more than made up for it. I'll mostly be using this lens outside, so the 2.8 shouldn't be too big of a loss.

Besides, when I was originally planning on a DSLR, it was going to be the 20D. Buying the MKII, I had to scratch the carbon fiber tripod and ball head I was going to spend $600 on. I'll just have to get by with my heavy-weight tripod and pan and scan head for now.

Wow those filter prices are amazing. You have to tell me if you get them in. I'm dying to know if they are legit. If so I need some new filters.

I am just curious what the point of these threads are? Besides to rub it in. Just clutters the board.

Wow those filter prices are amazing. You have to tell me if you get them in. I'm dying to know if they are legit. If so I need some new filters.Yes, I thought the prices there were great too! I'm wondering about the digital polarizer and if it's really different than the standard Pro 1. According to the docs, it said it corrects the color seen through the view finder that is different in a digital camera, which doesn't really make any sense to me.

They were listed on Hoya's Web site as an authorized dealer, so I felt very comfortable ordering from them. The lady was very nice and I really expect no problems getting the filters. She was even knowledgeable about the filters.

Just clutters the board.I for one have appreciated hearing about the buying experience, what people are buying, and all the details. A lot of good information winds up in these posts. You could ignore them if they bother you that much. It certainly was not my intention to rub anything in. Sorry you think I'm littering the board.

I plan on using them for evey filter I buy from here on out. I was thinking one of the star filters might be good.
