I currently own the digital rebel. I often have problems if I take a bunch of pictures in raw mode, in a row. The camera needs time to process the pictures before it allows me to take more . I see that the xt will allow 14 pics in a row (in jpeg) what does that mean for raw mode? The problem is I mainly use the camera for taking baby/child portraits. I want the ability to take a bunch of pictures in a row when the subject smiles for instance. It seem as though with the rebel, it takes a good 5/6 secs to process after the buffer has been filled. I also, see that the write speeds to the ultra 2 cards (which I have) are improved in the xt. Will this also help me out? What is the real world difference between the 2. The busy signal is driving me insane.

I have a 1GB Lexar 80x CF card and my XT can shoot high quality jpeg for 40+ in burst mode. I dont think it even stops (I stopped because I was wasting shots)

It mostly depends on the CF card. Although, not even the fastest of cards will help the old rebel.

I don't know how many it can take on RAW mode, though.
