Hey guys,

I have a 40d + BG-E2n. I went out with the family today and noticed that there was a slight delay when pressing my shutter button on my 40d. I had the same delay on the shutter button on the BG-E2n.

When i switched the BG-E2n to the OFF position, the shutter performace on my 40d returned to normal...

Anyone else notice this??

Today's setup was: 40d + BG-E2n + 1 (fully charged) battery + 24-70mm f/2.8.

Not me.

I have a pair of them and no delay on either.

I've never noticed any delay and I pretty much always have my grips on my 40Ds. But, I've never used my BG-E2n with a single battery. I don't know if that might make a difference or not.

I've used the exact combo you describe - except for 2 batteries instead of 1 - and had absolutely no problems or delay issues.

Thanks guys for your responses!!

I've never noticed the delay with mine either.

Nope, no delay on mine... but it's the old school BG-E2. I've run it with one or two batteries without any issues.

as mentioned before i have a BG-E2n coupled with a 40d. Anyone have issues with the battery meter "mistakingly" reading a good battery as low?

I noticed lastnight mine was reading low...i pulled out the battery and reinserted it and it was reading fully charged....THEN i retested the shutter.

hmmm....

Popping the batteries out and back in again seems to fix it when it happens. I think it's pretty common for this to happen occasionally.

Never had it happen, and I always have the grip on my 40D. I did have a momentary panic when the shutter suddenly developed a 10-second lag on my 1D3, until I figured out that I had inadvertently set the self-timer. Doh!
