We would like to ask what type lense we need to use to capture clear & sharp images from a distance of 500 feet? One of the cameras we use is the new Nikon D70. We would like the lense to use with our Nikon Digital Camera and attach a C-Mount Cam to it.
All your coments wel-come.
Thanks in advance,

This is a Canon forum, not Nikon.
You'll probably get better advice in a Nikon forum.

There are some manufacturers that make adapters to use film camera lenses on C-mount cameras:
http://www.stellar-international.com/newcmount.html
There is also a company that custom makes all kinds of adapters: http://www.srbfilm.co.uk/index1.html
However, these are most likely much more expensive than getting standard adapters.
Haven't checked the link if they are available for Nikon lenses, that's what you have to do yourself.
As to the question what kind of lens you need, that really depends whether you would like to shoot a mouse at night or an elephant in broad daylight with it
To give you a ballpark figure, lenses for the two applications range from $ 500 to $ 50,000.
In general, the longer, the better (but also the more expensive).
Best regards,
Andy
