Here's me testing a new lighting scheme in the studio...
Shortage of models so I had to compromise with using myself http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif

Here's me before in between the "anxiously posing" stage and the "why the heck won't my lights work properly" stage http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

http://www.cmuntean.net/images/apr12me20.jpg

It's purposely a lil underexposed (just in case ur wondering http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

I like it. A bit dark for me, maybe it's just my monitor.

I know you said underexposure was on purpose but just looks too dark for me. Like background colour to yours and youve got a good look for this kind of stuff. Like the eye contact with the lense. Didnt like the clothing catalogue pose.

On all counts though, far better than I could ever do so nice work.

Man I dont know how you do it. You look natural in your self portrait.
Sheesh.. Hard to do man.

Looks good. I like it. You look like a model.

Thanks :)
Fer, it probably is the monitor. It looks a little dark on my monitor at work as well ;)

Monkey_wrench, why wouldn't you post this?

serissolutions, I did quite a bit of modeling before, but I agree it's hard being on both sides of the camera in the same time :)

I thought you were a model. But yes, I agree, being in both sides of the camera is hard.

Agreed, over all nice pic and I like the silhouetted spikes.

But I also agree, the pose is a little too Chachi for me!

Good gradients of colour.

Have you tried a lighter right side, and more silhouette on left side?

thanks for all the comments guys ;)
I was just playing around with the lighting in the studio... I agree with some of you, I should have put the reflector a little closer to my right side.... oh well, next time :-P

Is this a home studio? Or something you have access to at work. It would be neat to have my own light setup.

All you need is a couple of cute baby shots, and you'll be able to attract anyone for portraits. :)

Wazza, it's my own studio at home in my basement... it needs a lot more equipment, but it gets the job done (Alienbees, a couple reflectors, a large background, a few light stands). I do shoot models once in a while, but haven't concentrated much on that lately, it's really nice outside.

pretty good I think. Did you use Neat Image? Looks like a bit of overdone noise reduction in the skin areas. Good pose and lighting.

I agree it's a bit dark, but not too bad. The pose is a bit cheesy, but you still look pretty relaxed. Not easy to pose in general and even worse trying to be on both sides of the camera.

/Claire
P.S. Geesh, I didn't know you were that cute! ;)

Thank you Claire :o ;) and dedalus

I was having some lighting issues, so you should see the poses a few minutes later, I was far beyond relaxed :p :-P

Since everyone else is putting up self portraits I might as well do it too. Here is one I did yesterday. I had to use the timer function on my camera and it was low light. I set up the focus before taking the pics so I am unfortunately a little out of range, but I still think the picture is cooL! Go ahead and rip on my pic, I know you want to. =)

nice job. If your monitor is properly calibrated, than it's not "too dark".

Nice one Chris, and it doesn't look too dark for me. Well done.
