Got a new Powershot A510 camera today... fairly new to this photography malarky so thought I'd take it out on the streets of Canterbury. Any comments and advice are welcomed... but be gentle with me this is my first day of photos :o

Cheers,
-Daryl

I think this one's just begging for a caption - "Oh crap I've lost the coach!" maybe?

Train arriving at Canterbury West. I think I've created a concept of depth here... not sure though... what do you think?

I like # 4, but I think it could be composed a bit different. Keep shooting though, that is how you get better. I usually pick a scene, and then work the scene.

Congrats on the camera.
#5 may make a interesting black & white.

Thanks for comments :) will definitely keep shooting and learning!

Camera seems to have just about the right number of controls for a novice like me which is great - I'd recommend it to anyone starting out

I think there is some interesting color in the cones.
I love anything with a bunch of colors, or a plethora of one saturated color.

speaking of which, I forgot about a bunch of Orange Cones-like things I shot in manhattan... hmm.. have to edit that.

I visited Canterbury last summer and loved it.. never got that close to the cathedral, though. Nice pics!

PS - here's my favorite Canterbury photo. Check out my whole gallery from my Eurotrip last summer here (http://scottieo.smugmug.com/Travel/62485).
