Took some pictures yesterday at the Tire Rack in South Bend, IN of the start of One Lap of America. I'd really love some feedback guys. I'm still getting used to my 40d and want to improve.

I tried a couple of actions shots but between the hard shadows cast from the sun and the distance between me and the cars I'm not too sure how well hey came out (but C&C would be appreciated):

7. (wondering if I should crop his one tighter...opinions?)

If you want to see the rest of the pictures from that day I'm slowly uploading them to my flickr here (http://www.flickr.com/photos/silverjester/sets/72157617517987835/)

wondering if I should crop his one tighter... Generally, try to leave more room at the front for it to "move into".

They're all neat photos! You asked for feedback, so here it is.

1. Like it. I like the overall tone.

2. I was very distracted by the bag. I focussed immediately on that when I first saw the photo.

3. The back of the car was cut off too much.

4. The wing looks goofy on the M3. Not your fault obviously. :D It's a nice composition however, telling a story of preparations for the OLoA. Love the stuffed fuzzies on the dashboard. That's part of the story too.

5. The red brake caliper makes the shot. Nice job!

6. In a collection it probably works; by itself I wouldn't think much about what's happening in it.

7. I think it's cropped just right. Everything works - the lines, the motion. The car could be in slightly better focus, but it's otherwise a nice shot.

8. Doesn't work for me. Some of it is the color, some of it is that the car needs to be a little more in focus.

From your flickr set, I love the Porsche and the close-up of the Audi.

Thanks for the welcome. And thanks for the advice....noted for future use.

1. Yeah this was my favorite of them all.
2. Unfortunately the girl sorted walked right into my shot and the car was on it way out for the day so I didn't really get a chance to try and shoot that car.
3. I see what you're saying. I was thinking of adding a little more detail (uping exposure) around the taillights and the rear diffuser.
4. A little goofy, but I would love to drive it lol :)
5. thank you
6. Understood, just trying to get a general feel for what is what like at the event. But I think by that time a lot of the contestants had already left.
7. Thanks
8. I was really stretching to save this photo, just because after I realized I didn't have that many that turned out anywhere near decent from the skid pad.

Thanks for the comments guys!
