I am new to photography and my question is, is DxO a good processing
program? I am testing the trial and from my eye, I see some great improvements. I can't afford Photoshop and haven't had the education to know how to use it. Is it worth the 199.00 Canadian? Are there other programs that are better? Thx.

I've never used DxO, so I don't know what's better. But if you're looking for a very capable program at a good price check out Paint Shop Pro X2. In the US it can be found for about $60 or so.

I am friends with 2 busy architectural photographers that use DXO to correct perspective. They rely on it for situations where they have to shoot at certain extremely wide angles in which their camera lenses don't have enough coverage for extreme rise/fall movements. According to the guys I know...DXO is the best for perspective control. I don't use it myself and can only relate their experiences....but yeah it should be worth the money
