Its hard to get my APBT (American Pit Bull Terrier) to sit still she is just a puppy :)

I am new to my Xsi as well as photography, but I have a serious problem taking pictures so I got rid of that terrible point and shoot and LOVE it, I still have issues getting the settings correct for the light and such....And cannot figure out how to take good pictures inside with good light without a flash.

Here they are, other than ai servo, any way to NOT have her as blurry? When she is running and such? Here they are, enjoy!!!

These are way smaller than the originals, but you get the idea http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj244/AprilArchambeau/IMG_0780-1.jpg

The second one would have been my fave...but she is too dark and her head was cut off.
I understand though, my dog is a pit mix and she REFUSES to even look at the camera! good luck, can't wait to see the next batch!

I've only had my Xti since xmas this year and have learnt more by luck than judgement how to take good shots of my bulldog and various other dogs... All I can say for action shots I've found you need to be on Ai servo but in TV mode with a fast shutter speed 1/250th or above, which also means you have to up the iso in order to get enough light in depending on the aperture etc. I also bought a 50mm f1.8 and its a fantastic lens for indoor photography without a flash, as well as action shots, obviously at 1.8 the dof is really shallow but once you've played with it a while you get to know what aperture works best at what iso etc for the best results, it was the best £70 I've spent! I've been teaching myself, by looking at other peoples settings on Flickr and just taking hundreds of shots!! Hopefully one day practice will make perfect! :D
Beautiful apbt u have!
The shot below was taken with my little 50mm..

In general is good not be against the sun.
Also it's better don't be in front of a fast-moving object, it's better something a little side.

I like the third shot.
