Iridescent Lizards

Chem class yesterday played with my teachers pet lizards what do you guys think?

The lab tables were pitch black; with a little cloning turned out great
i didnt rilly have a way to light it... everything i tried made harsh shadows at this range... so i decided on high ISO and noise
The bottom one was a incandescent light white balance in the rooms flourescent lights but i ended up liking that too

no i did not bring DSLR to my Chemistry Class



This was done with a pocket olympus D-40

funny thing is i checked the other day and this sucker sells for like 60-70 on ebay



but here is what i did for both of those shots



Aperture Priority
F8

1/50

ISO 400 [noisewise this is high ISO for a compact camera]

-1 step exposure [sucker only goes in 1/2 steps]

Thats inspiration for you "I can't live w/o my L lenses" or "I cant afford any more L lenses" type photographers =p

Theyre actually quite boring... despite the amount of abuse they get in a high school science lab

I never saw them move until i took them out of their cage and after that they qouldnt stop moving. That shot on the log was probably my 10th attempt to get a sharp one [1/50th sec]

im really not sure i dont know a thing about lizards/geckos or whatever these are. They have those kind of sidways freakish eyes but i was unable to capture that after repeated attemped nor was there enough color info to bring the pupils out on photoshop
