Here are a few of the better shots I captured yesterday of my better half trying a spot of jumping with her sturdy steed - Hannes:

Now I don't know squat about horse jumping...but here's my take.

#1 Nice shot, but no jumping.
#2 Probably the best of the series IMO.
#3 The horse's Don King hairdo covering the face of the rider takes away from this shot.
#4 Picture of a horse's **s...not too interesting.
#5 Nice..I like the concept, and the execution.
#6 Another horse's **s...

Like I said, I know nothing about the sport, but that's how I see your pics. Exposures look fine for the bright sunny day. I'd just like to see more rider's faces instead of the hind end of the horse.

Cheers!

Look at that little Halfie go! Nice clear shots.. good color!
Thanks for sharing!
I've never seen hangers like those you've got mounted onto the drums. .. do they have a name (what they're called?)

Cheers for the comments both.

Wayovrpar, I appreciate the detailed feedback on the photos and you are right a few photos of the rider's face would have been better. Interestingly on this ocassion I hardly got any shots of the rider, I predominantly focussed on catching the horse action!

Playm - he's actually a Norwegian Fjord rather than a Halfie, albeit a very similar look and build! Re. the hangers, unfortunately I haven't got a clue!
