In my zeal to "expose to the right" I often end up with clipped whites. I am trying AEB to address this issue and wonder if anyone has any advice. I shoot Av mode, always, adjust ISO between 200, 400 and 800 to keep the shutter speed up. I do not have the skill or coordination to shoot birds in manual mode. I have only tried this (AEB) one day. I sure ended up with lots of files! Any advice will be appreciated.

One click to the right of center on the built-in meter is enough in almost every case. More than that and you will get clipped whites.

Greetings...I generally use shutter priority AEB and get what DOF I can...I also use a "spot meter" setting so the meter reading is from the bird more so than the rest of the image. For birds that are black, I overexpose.

easily a product of shooting mainly white birds, and in direct afternoon lighting.
there are times when you have to know not to take a picture and that may be the lesson to be learned here.
