the built in on my 10D is crap, i have never used it (well I have just to find out it's crap) your's looks pretty good. I have never seen anyone use the built in on a 20D. they made a nice improvement on the built it.

I have used the built in flash on the 300D quite a bit (only out of necessity) and based on what I've come up with these are very good indeed. The dark shadows have been kept to a minimum which is difficult. Good positioning and good exposure. And you have some very attractive friends.

Thanks to all.
The conditions for shooting at that party were less than ideal, as it was held outdoors with very poor lighting, so the number of really good shots wasn't so high !!
I had to drag these girls inside the house to take the first three.
The last one was outdoors, so you see what I mean !!

BTW i use with regularity the Built in flash on the 10D and S45 and i find them very useful.

They seemed to come out pretty decent for the built in flash. I like the lighting on the first one the best. I would have liked to see a similar shot with the subject a little further from the background to get more separation if possible. Otherwise, nice job.

Nice series of shots. The built in flash can help grab a shot if You have left your 'real' flash unit at home. Its good for fill-in outdoors.

Well not so much "left at home" as "it's in the mail "...the flash, but the one I had served me well.
My only regret is that it's so hard to get any "photo worthy" model into a real photo-shoot !!! (unless you're willing to pay, of course)...so how on earth can you get better at shooting models , if you don't have the chance to practise? :( :(
Thanks to all for your kind comments :D
