View Full Version : Cooper's Hawk - from the balcony for Scottes!

Heard the Cooper's Hawk screaming in the tree and got these from the balcony this morning. It was kinda gray out, in the shade, and at 800 ISO I am real pleased with how the 20D handled it.
Note for Scottes: I haven't seen the Cooper's Hawk for a while. Thanks for mentioning "the balcony" - coz he must have heard you and decided to pay me a visit. I had to run out in my jammies & slippers - that's why he looks so shocked in the first pic. ;-)

Carumba!!!! That's as good as it gets. I have a new canon 20D with a 100-400 L as well; you've raised the bar for me. Great shots

Ha, that is just going to put Scottes over the top!
Great shots by the way! I'd like a hawk to visit my tree off the deck.

WOAH! Beautiful! Very rare oppertunity! That is awesome. I wish I could find a hawk to shoot around my area. I only see them when they're circling a couple hundred feet up in the sky. :-( Good job.

Great shots!
Too bad nobody was pointing a lens your way. That would have been an interesting sight to see also.

You're killing me, PB, you're simply killing me.
Fantastic shots as usual. Superbly nonchalant in slippers, which is also fairly usual with you.
I gotta get me some pajamas.... Can you get pajamas in camo patterns? Or how about ghillie-jamas?

Outstanding shots. From the balcony, too. No blinds, running through the woods, freezing feet, etc. Probably p*sses some people off! :D:D:D
