just recently aquired Capture One PRO, and I'm also pretty new to shooting RAW to. So I'm wondering what you all prefer to use and which is better/worse. Or any major tips while shooting RAW.

C1 does a cleaner job compared to PS-CS, from what I've seen. Even breeze browser gives me cleaner raw conversions. However, I've got the best results from pixmantec's raw shooter essentials. It's free and it delivers much better results than PS-CS and I prefer it to C1. Give it a try.

It depends on the person.
I used to use C1 Pro for my 300D and I loved it. It was much better than early Adobe Camera Raw versions.
Then I bought a 20D, and C1 Pro took FOREVER to support this camera. So, I was forced to use Adobe Camera Raw in Photoshop CS. I was blown away by the quality improvements in the Camera Raw 2.2 and newer (now 2.4). The workflow of PS CS suits my style MUCH better. Also, when C1 Pro finally supported the 20D after 4 months, I decided to give it a try.
IMHO, Photoshop CS gives much better quality output when it comes to detail, noise and colour, atleast when using the 20D. In order to get C1 to match the clean high ISO output of PS CS, you lose a lot of detail. But the real clincher was the innacurate colours produced by C1 Pro, especially on skin tones. Since I much prefer the PS CS workflow, this added improvement in output quality was the icing on the cake. I won't be going back to C1 Pro any time soon.
