Hello Everyone,

We are making a trip to Las Vegas in about 2 weeks from now. I would be happy to receive any guidance / tips from Pros like you on this board.

Any particular shots that I shouldn't miss? Currently I have 17-85 mm IS USM. Planning to add a 70 -300 mm IS lens before the trip.

Any ideas - must / must nots???

Thank you!

I would think that a 10-22 would be a better lens to bring than a 70-300.

Or, just bring the 17-85. Have fun and watch your gear.

The Las Vegas strip is one of the safest places in the country - it should be with all the money. Exterior night shots in Vegas are the best. Be warned though- don't try and shoot pictures on the gambling floor. You'll be asked to leave.

You are OK on the floor for a snapshot. But dont try more than a few at a time. They are OK with the "Hey look at me, I'm giving away my money, and likeing it" pictures. Its free publicity for them. But dont try to have a photo session of any kind with out talking to them first.

must: bring a tripod if you wanna do a night shot at the strip.
Spots: Water fountain Bellagio at night, Paris Eiffel tower, Luxor pyramid (take the free tram from Excalibur, when you get out to Luxor, you will be right below the sphinx!)

must not: dont bring your camera to shows, as you wont be able to use it.
