I'm trying to work out the components for a new PC mainly for Photoshop and RAW conversion work. I am going the AMD Athlon 64 3000+ skt 939 route.

What's the difference between the bottom two motherboards on the Overclockers link below (other than price of course).

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Gigabyte_Socket_939.html

I would use the PC for Photoshop and Internet mainly. No gaming other than my son playing Thomas The Tank engine PC games once in a while.

Thanks....David..

That link puts both bourds together so you can compare them.

The K8NXP-9 is deffinitly the better bourd, it has dual Bios (which have found useful in the past) and much high FSB speed, so it will run faster, and possibly more upgradeable in the future (maybe, the technology is about to change again I think).

If price is a major consideration then the K8NF-9 will not disapoint, and if you really are only going to use it for PS and internet only then I doubt you would ever notice the differnce.
But, if you can afford the K8NXP-9 then I say get it.

Thanks for the reply.

If I got the cheaper of the two motherboards I could afford 1gb of Ram as opposed to 512 so that might well be the way to go to get me started.
