I think Herb Ritts was a great shooter. I hear during the 80's he brought that classic b/w glamour look back to Hollywood.
He sure shot a lot of celebs and I think most in the US would recognize at least one of the shots he took during his career.
Not familiar with Greenfields work and just looked at this site. Looks ok, but I'm not seeing anything spectacular.

Man I thought my post would get lost in the shuffle. Thank you for the replay. I agree, Mr. Ritts was a great shooter, I think his work is very facinating to the extent that everything was like the way he saw it. Not that much PP work usually. Just great images with a great mind.

I'm not familiar with Greenfield that much, but when I was tarting out, I was an assistant for a fashion photographer and that was what I wanted to pursue at the time.
That was back in the early 90's and Herb Ritts was 'The Man' in the fashion/glamour world.
I'd love to hear a seminar or private talk with this guy.
Assisting for a pro in the fashion world made me realize I didnt want to be thrown to the wolves of the magazine editor/designer so I persued Travel Photography:D

Question: Did herb have film or did he move over to Digital with photoshop work?

You know, I had to sit and re-read the title of the thread because I originally thought you were talking about being able to go to a Seminar/talk with Herb Ritts or Timothy Greenfield.
I was wondering if you were going to be channeling the ghost of Mr. Ritts....LOL
I know realize you just wanted opinions from other photographers and what they felt about these two icons

He died before dslr so I know he shot film but don't know if he did post production work in PS though. I'm not sure if PS was around when he died.

hmm i wonder that to. Like his images are clean, and very smooth. How is this possible with film.
