Just wanted to share my experiences with some new toys i recently purchased to replace some items sold. I just completed an assignment and can now give a report on how these new items functioned practically in the field.

I recently sold my Kata Organizer OC-84, and gotten myself a TT Streetwalker HDD, and a Boda Dry to replace the Shootsac. (My Shootsac is up for sale! Anyone?)

I just completed 5 days of intensive event coverage and I must say that I am very impressed with these two new bags! The TT Streetwalker HDD is perfect for transporting equipment (list below) around. With the generous amount of padding and support, my shoulders and back didn't ache for once, and it allowed a good airflow, keeping perspiration on the back to the minimal.

The Boda Dry is a gem! Finally, something that can hold my 70-200 2.8L IS with hood and 24-70 2.8L with hood, a 580EX, iPhone, business cards, wallet, CF cards, spare batteries, and misc accessories comfortably! I spent almost 6 hours straight on my feet for the event, and the shoulder strap really took most of the weight away. The Boda allowed protection for the lenses used without caps, quick switching of lenses and flash, and a lot of convenience having put everything into the bag and nothing in my pockets.

I used it with an RStrap with the new FastenR2 and finally, I could use my vertical grip again. The new FastenR2 is almost 'not there' when you use the vertical grip as it is rather tiny. Did not come loose at all during the entire event without any re-tightening. I was checking it occasionally on the first day, but left it alone the other days as i knew it was holding up.

Into the TT Streetwalker HDD went the following equipment:

5DmkII (gripped)
17-40 4L
24-70 2.8L
70-200 2.8L IS
50 1.4
580EX (with Stofen Omnibounce)
Optech raincover for DSLR
TT Streetwalker Raincover
R-Strap with spare FastenR2s.
5DmkII Battery Charger
Fujifilm f100fd Compact camera
Oakley Crosshairs
Expodisc 77mm
Lenspen
Misc items (microfiber cloth, namecards, notepad, stationery, spare tee)

And I still had space to spare!!

If anyone else has similar experiences please share! I would highly recommend these two items to anyone!

I agree that the TT SW HD is a great backpack - perfect for getting gear to the location. However, I will not think that stuffing the bag full with equipment and lugging it around during a shoot would be ideal at all.

Here's what I once put in my TT SW HD:

40D + 70-200 2.8IS hood in position right down the middle
400D gripped
17-40L
85mm 1.8
580EXII
430EXII
Angle finder
Yong Nuo radio shutter remote
Batteries, bounce card, wires, Lowepro CF card holder
TT SW HD rain cover
Water bottle
umbrella (against rain, not studio stuff)
tripod (out front)

I could put a 13" macbook inside (2kg) and it fits perfectly, but the bag will weigh a ton. Also, the inner compartments still have space (1 lens slot) for the macbook power adapter.

I enthusiastically recommend it to anyone who wants a bag to carry lots of stuff to the location, and might need to bring along a notebook.

Cheers,
Zexun

Well as i said, the TT Streetwalker HDD is good for transporting equipment. The Boda Dry is the 'on-the-go' bag.

And yea, I could also fit my Macbook Pro with accessories inside, but I sure don't want to carry that all day long! Haha.

I only have 1 complaint about the Boda Dry. When i received the bag the strap already had some fraying on the edges as though it was used before. After I had used it for the event, there were constantly threads fraying from the zippers. Now i'm starting to wonder if the bag will actually last.
