Hello everybody.
I own an A80 for less than a year and I am very happy with it. Until I recently ran into a curious LCD problem. Suddenly, the image on display showed as if it was solarised, than horizontal stripes appeared (as on a desync TV image). These dissappeared after I closed and start the camera again. However, after few other shots, the image on the LCD got permanently white and I couldn't see any information on the LCD. It is like that since then. However, photos are perfect since I use now mainly the auto settings of the camera. If connected to a TV (on the special AV port) all info from menu, functions etc are available and I can use them normally (on the TV CRT). Which indicates that there is only an LCD problem. There haven't been no mechanical shocks, no water inside, no nothing. Did anyone ran into similar problems ? Could be a loose contact ? I would appreciate any info.
Yours,
miancu

Sorry to hear about your problem. I have an A70 and S1IS, both for a year or more, thousands of photos, and haven't had a problem like yours; obviously an electronic/mechanical malfunction of some sort.
