My 8 year old son. I am new to this and some of the advice I've been reading sounds like a foreign language! I just bought a Digital Rebel, and added the basic 75-300mm lens and the 50mm f1.8. I welcome ALL advice as this is one addicting hobby! Oh, and I need to borrow someone's credit card. They won't allow me to order the 70-200 f2.8 without one! Some companies are so rude!!

Great first shots. Only advice I was given by my teacher was becareful not to off peoples feet - hard to do sometimes. I have thown away many shots over missing limbs. The question I have for you on this is I notice the field color has a shift from gold to having a red tint. I am experiencing the same with my 70-300 usm is and was not sure if this isolated to me or if it is somehting else. What color reproduction is the more accurate of these two shots? Were they taken close in time - or had the ambient lighting shifted significantly? But fun shots of the kids - I have hundreds from when my boys were the same age. You'll be glad you have them.

Thanks for the advice, I let Photoshop decide what lighting and contrasts she thought would be best, but I did not alter the color. I thought photography was tough, but Photoshop is like learning latin!
Thanks again for the advice! Oh, but you forgot to leave your credit card number!

Sorry, first pic was at 6:00, second, about 7:00. I see what you mean about the color, I would have to say the second one was more realistic to actual.
