Hi all,
I'm thinking of getting the MT-24EX to use with my 40D and Canon 100mm.
I've seen a few articles online of people having exposure problems.
How may of you have experience with the Camera+flash (and possibly lens) combo?
Do you have any problems?
Thanks

only that you need to diffuse the flash as it is too harsh - makes you wonder what field testing Canon did. It is very useful for the MP-E65 with its short working distance, with the 100mm you might do just as well with a 430ex/580ex off camera - save yourself a small fortune too

The 40D has been working well with the MT-24EX since the 1.1.1 firmware upgrade. I shoot at angles that are difficult for E-TTL metering to handle but at least the MT-24EX isn't dumping out full power when I'm shooting against a dark background:
A little over 1x with a 40D + an MPE-65mm macro lens + an MT-24EX:

I got some decent results from the MT-24EX, 100mm macro and various bodies, below I think are the 30D and maybe an XTi (I have shots w/ the 40D as well but these were handy).
Like mentioned the light is initially a bit harsh but that goes for most flashes, and while ETTL does get a bit confused in some circumstances I was usually shooting the flash set to manual anyway.
