Any suggestions on improving appreciated. Shot with Canon dRebel EF 50 1/8 ll and Photoshop Elements 3. Thanks for any help.

The left side still looks a bit soft-you didn't use a 24-70/2.8 by chance did you? just kiddin. Nice shot, maybe try using a smaller aperature next time.

to much levels/sharpening for my taste. first one is softer.

I really like what Mike did with the sharpening of the hair. Looks good regardless. Great subject and pose.

Hmmm... I still like the first (original) one best. the softer approach suits this subject. However, I think it would benefit from just a little usm to slightly sharpen the left eye.
Nice portrait and great looking kid - well done!

First one is a typical unprocessed, flat image. Number 2 is a major improvement. Number 3 is it....hands down. Nice shot to start with and the post process job gyrob did is great. Looks like output from Neat Image or some noise reduction software which also tends to smooth the image.
Gyrob - are you going to tell us what you did?
Duh, all I had to do was read the posts....:lol:

Thanks everyone. I like what you did gyrob. How did you do it? I'm just learning Photoshop Elements. This forum is the greatest. Over 50% of my pictures are of my granddauther Caitlin.
