The second picture is nice, and is our native flower, the California Poppy.

Yes sireee! They are blooming up north here like crazy. They are one of my favorite subjects.

Been messing around waiting for the sears dishwasher repair person. Here is a different crop. I find this to be most interesting.

Nice Dante, I almost sneezed at all that pollen, very sharp. I can't wait to get my Canon 100mm f/2.8 macro, I have shot a few macros with the 17-85mm EFS lens that came with my kit, though the pictures looks are nice I am not that impressed for my own taste. Right now the weather in CA cannot be beat and this is the best season to get your Macro photography on!

I know I am going to sound like a tamron spokesperson. But check out their marco line up. I am quite impressed by it and how it stacked up. By getting tamron's macro, I was able to save for the 10-22mm. LOL. I'm sick, but I know that.

I like them both, but number 2 is my favourite. That is up close and personal with a California Poppy and the lens to do so.

That's it, ive had enough of this...

have to add a macro lens to the collection, tried very hard to put it off, but your pictures are like a Siren's song....

Dante, you are truly an evil man.. ;)

Muhahahahahaha (evil laugh). What one are you going to get? I have been having a blast with my macor lens of late. Really gives a shift in your perception. To me ther eis somehting truely facsinating about the "small world"

Dante,
was looking seriously at the Canon EF 100mm 2.8 Macro , but looking at your pictures has thrown a spanner in the works. From what i can see and read in the other Macro lens threads, the Canon is a great "Introduction to Macro photography lens".
This is definitely one area of photography that i have not explored but am very keen to do so.

cfcRebel, shooting macro is really fun. When I walk around the mountain that is above my house, I love the scenery, but I find myself looking down at the tiny little flowers and other subjects that would make interesting macro subjects.

Very, very nice, especially the Sears dishwasher repairman waiting one (Whew! Verbose). Wish we had those poppies in Colorado.

No, but you have Columbines!!!!! Very pretty flower. I used to live in Denver. Loved the mountains-Heck just about the whole darn state.
