Hiya folks:

Okay this is a big step forward so bear w/ me on the questions:

Scenario: my friend and I shot a dance recital (school age children) last year and gave the photos to the owner of the studio, really didn't do it for much else than practice, fun & opportunity for key photos with my daughter.

This year the studio owner would like more formality and is okay with me making a profit off of the photos we take. Soooo....

Setup:
I am leaning towards Smugmug for distribution. They seem to have the best setup but wanted to see what else is out there....

Pricing:
What is sample pricing for photos of this caliber for 4x6s, 5x7s, etc? Honestly I don't even know if I'll breakeven from all this, the 'pro' Smugmug site is $149/year so I'd need to sell quite a few photos to get there.

Legal mumbo jumbo:
I read about model releases blah blah but am wondering what type of agreement would be appropriate for this engagement? Would a master agreement with the studio suffice assuming they have the releases from the parent (which I believe they do but will double check?)

Anything else?
What else am I missing from the business side? I know the photography side is a whole other thread =)

Thanks in advance for all your advice!

From the business side... just some things that weren't in your note:

- Collecting and paying sales tax (I have no idea how smugmug handles this)
- Business license
- Insurance

That's all that comes to mind.
