Sorry, I can't answer your question. However, I just got my SanDisk CF card today, too. It's a replacement for one that I sent back a couple of weeks ago due to what the SanDisk customer service person says is a "defect". However, the replacement CF card is exhibiting the same "defect" that the first one did. I was wondering if you could check your card to see if this so called defect really is a defect or just something unique to all SanDisk CF cards?
The next time you take the SanDisk card out of the camera, press against the connector edge of the card and see if it has a "give" or a play. None of my Lexar or Viking cards exhibits this "give" but both of the SanDisk cards that I've had so far do.
Thanks.

Thanks for trying it out. It's not really a flex but more of the connector edge of the card sort of going into the body of the card when your press against it (the edge of the card, not the flat side of the card). And it's only noticeable after inserting the card into the camera or a card reader and then pulling it out. It's as if, when you pull the card out of the camera or the card reader, the connector edge gets pulled out slightly so that when you press against it, it goes back into the body again.

BTW, I wouldn't worry too much about the MLC technology used with the new Ultra II cards. I went to the SanDIsk site to see what the new MLC is all about and apparently, they've improved on the MLC technology so much, performance-wise, that they were confident enough with it to use it on the Ultra II cards and still maintain the previous performance specs. So, although previous MLC cards may have been slow compared to other technologies, the new and improved MLC being used by SanDisk on their Ultra II cards isn't anything to be too worried about. Or, at least, that's what I gathered from SanDisk's web site.
If you read the words on the blister pack, the card's rated at 9 Mbs Write and 10 Mbs Read. Now, I'm not sure how true to life these ratings are but I'm hoping it's close enough to actual. :)
