Dear All,

Thought I would post a selection of my shots from Rounds 1 & 2 of last weekends FIA GT3 Championship races at Silverstone. The weather was very hospitable for Silverstone this year, which made for some great conditions for photography.

All shots were taken with a Canon 40D and Sigma 50-500mm EX DG HSM lens.

As always all C&C welcomed.

#1 - Morgan Aero Super Sport exiting Stowe

#2 - Porsche heading out of Copse towards Maggots

#3 - Viper and Porsche battle it out at Stowe

#4 - Beautiful, and new to the series, Alpina B6 GT3 with damaged front suspension heading for the pits (it made it and was out racing again later in the race)

#5 - Much improved and more aggressive looking Jaguar XKR

#6 - Fantastic looking Morgan Aero Super Sport heading out of Luffield and on to a second Morgan victory for the weekend

#7 - New Audi R8 LMS out of Bridge

#8 - Another Alpina B6 GT3 heading out of Priory (my favourite livery for this great looking and even better sounding car)

nice shots, went with the family, was restricted to how far we walked as my youngest had hurt his ankle so didnt venture around the track, just sat at woodgate b, so my 300mm lens was a bit weedy there.

Thanks for the positive comments guys - glad you like the set I have posted here.

It sure is a tiring day if you want to do a full lap of the track. We were there for two days, so spent Saturday taking shots around the full extent of the circuit (Copse, Stowe, Club etc.), and then spent Sunday mainly at Abbey & Priory and around the pits complex. Silverstone is a circuit where long lenses are really hand though, mind you - 300mm should get you some decent results at Priory, Luffield, Abbey (from infield), and many other places if your after shots like #1 in this set. Hope you had a good day out though :D
