Here is my first attempt at a self portrait. This was taken in a mirrored window with my 20D and 70-200mm

Good background idea, plain and soft but easily understood as 'budding' trees.
Did you take a big mirror out into the park?
Great job on the color highlights. This technique always reminds of the movie Schindlers List that featured a little girl in a red coat.
The top hand is blown out.
Q: What is a LATIGID? I looked up Latigid in google and spent time surfing http://www.latigid.com
Is that where you got the strap?
SLATIGID.com is unregd. Weird.

That's interesting. Did you choose those particular items to colorize in order to balance the pic? Or did you choose them to be symbolic of "photographer": cap for brain, glasses for eyes, camera obviously, and jeans for leg work? And only a hint of smile....were you concentrating? I like it.

Not too bad at all!
That window had quite a mirrored finish on it to get it that sharp huh?
And your colors are nice. There seems to be a big trend of that this week!

Why not 'Rotate Canvas\Flip Canvas Horizontal' the image in PS?

Well Thanks all. I know I blew the top hand out i my B&W conversion. I chose to color those items because I thought it made me as the photog stand out. Yes it is a mirrored Window of a building at the botanical gardens in St. Louis MO. I could flip it so Digital on the strap is spelled right but then how would you know it was a self portrait or not? Thats why I chose to leave digital backwards. Other than that you would never know it was a self taken shot. I will have to redo it so I can fix the blown highlight on my hand. Thanks for all the feedback.
Oh and yes I was concentrating. LOL! Thats why no smile. But thats the way I look most of the time so it fits.

Here I tried to tone down the hand without redoing the whole thing.

I completely missed the window mention. Must be the cheap coffee.
OT, the reason I knew about www.latigid.com is that I spent a while last night fishing for a domain name to hang up a gallery. I already have other domains for other stuff and have a fair bit of experience.
Is anyone else doing this? I was thinking digital, photo, pix, light, camera etc. I want a domain that looks imaginative for the business card and the back of the jacket.
I came up with some .COMS that are not registered as yet....and in case you're wondering (and you should), my mind has been clinically described as being like one of those old slot machines...
