Hey everyone.

I went on a 3500km road trip a few months ago and tried to do a timelapse of the trip with my S3 Is. I had the camera take a photo every 35-45 seconds and the final movie was very "choppy" Using my laptop i can set it as low as 1 frame every 5 seconds but I was wondering if anyone here knew an optimal setting for getting 3 days worth of travel that will flow in a nice way. im not really looking for details of the cities, just the road.

thx

Choppiness might be due to fast shutter speed. From what I've read, you gotta have a slow shutter speeds to reduce the blips and chopiness and get smoothing transitions. What was your EXIF for the shots generally?

Um i have no idea lol. it was a canon S3 is in auto mode running off a laptop with automatic light compensation for when the sun went down, spot metering was turned off because the green light was getting annoying :) sorry if that doesnt help much

Automode is your problem. If you want to do timelapse, you'll need to understand how to manually set the exposure on your cam. Ideally I've read that 1/2 to 1 second exposures are about optimal for smooth transitions and no "blips".
