View Full Version : Watoto Children's Choir

I saw this children's choir at our daughters' school last night. It was an incredibly humbling evening, seeing these young Ugandan orphans (aged 9 to 12) perform and sharing their stories with the audience. Most have been affected by the AIDS epidemic and civil war which have ravaged the country. Incredible, and my shots do not do the evening justice. All are now cared for by the Watoto Foundation. If you get the chance to catch them, I highly recommend it. www.watoto.com (http://www.watoto.com)
All shot on 400D, 70-200L f4 IS (on loan from a friend, I think I'm convinced to get one myself now), no flash. I was 10 rows back in the audience. Photos are sharpened, no cropping.
C & C welcome

Thanks for the comment. This was just a show at my daughters' school. I'm sure there must be similar shows that you could shoot near you.

the pics seem a little red, i would work on the color balance. but other than that, wonderful captures. looks like a fun performance. you captured a lot of interesting expressions.

Great faces... Nothing better than youthful smiling faces... young children with a lot of promise.

I was struggling to determine whether the cast was the lighting or whether the white balance was off. After you've mentioned it, I went back to the RAW file and adjusted the WB. I think they look better with the change.
