Hello guys,
Today I got this assignment where a friend of mine needed a photo for a CD compilation so I went to the recording studio and got this shot... What do you think?

I think it's cool overall. Wouldn't feel the need to change anything. But, for the sake of consideration, a few nit-picking thoughts...
By having the pick in his hand it becomes more than just an expansive gesture and invites sustained attention, so I think it ought to be in focus too. I appreciate that might be difficult technically. I also like to see the head of guitars... they get chopped into too often... so I'd have him lift his left arm enough to keep it in frame. Following that right arm down, the tricep is coincident with the top of the speaker box behind... makes it look kind of like it's resting on it, confusing.
Cheers, Tony

I like the shot overall but I feel it would have more interest with his hand by the guitar just as he was getting ready to play. This shot works but maybe over dramatic in a sense. I dunno just my thoughts.

A very good shot overall, but I'm not keen on his right hand being cut off.

Thank you for the suggestions... the are very helpful
Tonydee, you are right about having the hand in focus too... next time I will use a closer aperture (around f/8 and f/11) to got more in focus. I was going to get more of the guitar's headstock but I wanted to get a close shot... so I sacrificed that part.

It's very good. It's very interesting from a musician perspective.
Response to cutoff hand with pic comment. IF you have the room on the original, I agree that the hand plus some space photo left would complete the image.
Again, like it a lot. Great exposure and like the lens angle as well.

I like this too. This high angle shooting down worked very well. Main thing here is the shadow across the mouth. Likely recoverable - should you try - especially if you've shot RAW. Cheers, Tony

You know that I was thinking the same thing when I saw the picture in my monitor... The good thing was that the shadow got his beard and a bit of his mouth. I kind of like it!!!...
Will check the RAW file and do what you are saying... it could get better!..
Thanks
