So I had my first paid family photo shoot this weekend, I am posting this here because I dont want critique on the photos, and I dont just want ot share them, I want to know (bc my client picked out and bought 275 bucks worth of prints) are these worthy of her moolah? I dont know exactly what resonable to charge and was in shock when she chose one of the more expensive packages I put together.
She loved them, and I was mostly please (especially for my first shoot) but I dont want to be ripping her off if her sister couldve taken shots just as good with a cheap p and s.... so are they any good? thanks in advance

these are very rough edits bc I have to buy new ps software since my computer crashed and my pse discs are in delaware, so these are a general idea of the shots which when printed will have standard editing and not the crazy funky stuff I did to them here (:

I don't like #3. But other are fine. One comment, I wouldn't crop thems o tight, you may have problems printing say 8x10 etc out of them as body parts will be cropped more.

YES if mom likes them this much (its not based on "if sis can take the shots with a p&s its the posing, editing, catching the perfect moments).
I like all these shots, will look at your flickr yet..... as a mom myself I'd be willing to spend plenty to get captures of myself with my boys like this.... I'm also a big fan of close-ups/really tight crops.
anyways they are worth what the client is willing to pay. Good luck with future shoots.

Thanks for your comments, I know my mom said the same of my brothers, she has a hard time getting them to take pictures with her to.
Bobbyz I would love to know why you dont like #3, it was moms favorite and I loved it as well. I know its not technically sound, but i love the capture

I'll bet shot #1 sold the customer instantly. You might well be able to sell that shot alone as an 11x17 for what you charged, to the right customer.

As to whether they're worthy of her $, she apparently thinks so. Part of the equation is how many prints at what size/quality she got for $275. If she got a 4x6 on copier paper of just the above five shots, then that'd be a ripoff of Glamour Shots proportions. If she got a dozen or more larger prints on high quality photo paper printed on a multi-ink printer with photo-class inks, then I think you did fine.

She got a rediculous number of prints for her money mailed in and printed at a proffessional printing company, thats not what i am worried about because I know the prints will be as good as it gets, what I am worried about is if the shooting is quality enough for the price and quality of the prints

It's good enough if someone is willing to pay for it.
