The Brown truck should arrive with my new toys! I'm pumped! I got the following:
EF 70-200 f/4L
EF 17-40 f/4L
EF 85 f/1.8
Bogen 3021 Pro Legs
Bogen 488RC2 Head
Speedlite 420 w Sto-fen Omni-Bounce
Should be a nice fit with my Tamron 28-75 XR DI f2.8 and EF 50 f/1.8 II
I will post some pics later this week.

Congrats!! You will love the toys. I have purchased the canon 50mm 1.8. I didn't think I would like it. The pictures are great . I wish I would have purchased the 50mm 1.4 now for more indoor shots. :)

Can anyone be so naive? Or are you trying to lull him into a false sense of complacency? He still needs, at a minimum, the 100-400 IS L, the 580EX, and to upgrade that Tamron to the 24-70 EF L. You don't have it all until you're fighting off the creditors at your bankruptcy hearing!

Come on Jon, you could at least let him enjoy it for a little while, till that empty, need just one more thing, feeling sets in. The Brown truck just left here, but all he had was cigars and pipe tobacco. I wasn't expecting any camera stuff, but I love to be pleasantly surprised.

I already have that feeling, but I turn the wallet over and nothing comes out! Maybe in a couple of months!

I might be able to afford a 100 - 400 in 2 or 3 months, but with that lens it might be 2 or 3 years!

The 600 is four pounds heavier. Try taking that on a hike up to 2 miles with a Wimberly head and a large Gitzo carbon fiber tripod. Ooof!

Splendid, glad to hear your getting your lenses.
I am about 900 bucks away from a 100-400L, 300 f4L IS, or a 400 f5.6L ..
give or take a 100 bucks ..lol..
all cash, no credit.

That is the only way to buy! Also makes the wife happy she doesn't have to pay interest on the CC!
