I recently acquired a really mint 1D Mark IIN and wanted to change some settings with EOS Utility. I have the latest upgrade on both PC and Mac and neither recognize my 1D, but will my 40D.. I tried a slightly earlier upgrade on the PC and it still won't recognize the camera. I'm using the USB cable vs. Firewire. Any suggestions?

TIA

This thread started about a 1D classic, but the info in it might help you.

Thanks, forgive a newbie here :-) Looks like I need to use the Firewire cable with my Mac.

Yep, 1D and 1D2(n) require FW...
Never even used the USB on mine, wouldn't know what it does ;)

Downloaded EOS Utility 2.4 upgrade to my Mac at home. Followed the instructions at the bottom in the download description (for ID Mark IIn) on the Canon USA site. Hooray! Got to make some settings changes I wanted.
