Welcome James. You might find posting a few images in Critique Corner gives you a "prod" in the right direction too. Seeing your own work through someone else's eyes can make you aware of new options. Cheers, Tony

Hi, James. Do you have favorite subjects you like to shoot? Landscapes? Animals? Weddings?

I get into creative droughts more than I like to admit. When I do, I use either Flickr or POTN to find a photo I really admire and then I try to copy it. Example: somebody posted a fantastic photo of a rattlesnake. I live in TX, rattlesnakes are a dime a dozen both in the wild and at the local zoo. I am a bit afraid of snakes, so I went to the zoo (nice and safe, y'know) and spent plenty of time trying to get a really good snake image. Finally, I got one that worked for me.

Try keeping a list of goals. I have a long list and it helps reduce creative droughts. My example might seem a bit weird, but it's the principle behind it that counts and honestly, it works everytime. :D
