I just saw these on ebay and was wondering if anyone here has tried them?

Slave Triggers for Hot Shoe Flash Optical Wireless. I was thinking of these for in the house subject photography. Nothing professional. And don't need to work more than 10 to 15 feet away.
Any thoughts would be apreciated.

This bit would worry me.
OH! Thanks for that!! I just saw them and thought, Great idea! Simple and why shouldn't they work. I don't understand why triggers are so complicated. Mine are all adjustable so all I need is a simple trigger. And since these should work at the speed of light I thought perfect.
I didn't read far enough to see the not compatible bit. To bad but thanks. :D

Here's one that works with Canon 430EX and 580EX speedlights:

Thanks for that. I just spent the better half of an hour there. And many thoughts later I think that I can use the E-Bay devices with my Vivitar flashes. And use the 580EX II on the camera or off the camera with the off camera cord. Configured this way the 580 would trigger the Vivitar flashes and their Thyristors would compensate for proper exposer. They are not to expensive so I might just check them out for the heck of it. I just might be surprised at the results. When I got the Vivitar flashes they were pretty good for their time so I am hoping this would yield some good results.
If anyone has already tried this out please chime in. :D

I use the syk3 and syk4 optical triggers, They work very well with my ez canons and sb-28 nikon.
The syk4 adds a pc port on the side which comes in handy every so often. They both also have a thread on the bottom of the shoe mount to screw into a lightstand or brolly clamp. I use them on a little mini tabletop tripod which makes a neat little setup.
I believe there was a specific issue with the ex canons with a few triggers, they should work fine with everything else.

Well thanks for that one too! I again did some more investigating and came up with these that are compatible with the 480EX II SYK-5's there are even 6's.

I cant for the life of me understand why Canon and Sony chose to cripple their best speedlights in they way they have !?!
I mean if they where to offer their own adapters for their crippled products they would at least have a reason for it, to make more money off their customers...
Nikon really set the bar high with the introduction of the SB-800, and now SB-900 Canon and Sony is still trying to catch up.
Of course Canon have a more complete system compared to Sony, Kudos for finally adding a PC-port to the 580EX II.
Kind of ironic that Sony (Minolta) wich was way ahead when it came to wireless flash is no way near the consistency, brain, functionality when you compare their flashsystem against the competition today.
One thing Sony has done well for them self is the swivel design of the HVL-58AM, alot better then both Nikon & Canon Imo. Sadly it lack brains...
