Was very impressed by Wazza'a post! Inspired me to post a couple more for our Non-Kiwi friends to enjoy!

Glad you entered the bandwagon.
Awesome shots! Love them both for very different reasons.
But in each, the perspective is realy great.

Has the second photo been post edited? What's the best way to enhance lights in that way?

The first one is really nice...The color of the needle especially in contrast with the darker sky...

New name.. Does that mean new camera? Non Nikon? hehe.

Your 2nd picture is a nice place to shoot from. Never shot there though, only been there a couple of years ago with no camera. When my mate was up from Palmerston North 4 weeks back, we drove to that point, but there seemed to be an undercover police operation going on. Undercover cars discretely parked up road, watching us go around the cul-de-sac. I was like, get outta here. Didn't want no trouble, and it was 10pm at night.
PS. That devonport city shot I posted, was the night we went to that location above. Too bad. Your pic is good. :)
Also the nice wide angle on the Sky Tower!!
What equivalent mm is that? 15mm?
It's a pity when shooting with my 17-40, still can only get to about 27mm equiv.

Thanks for the replies!

highVoltz - The only post processing done on the second shot was a horizontal crop, and I had to resaturate the sky and add contrast to the cityscape under the bridge. I went overboard on the exposure - ISO1600 30sec 2.8 - Totally overkill!

Wazz - Yeah, I changed my name because I thought that it was time I dropped the Nikon. I still used one! I actually signed on to this site without realising it was a Canon dedicated forum, hence the NikonF4s name...

Um, yeah, 'Fishermans Wharf' can be pretty dodgy afterdark! ahaha. I actually went there at about the same time as you, 10-10.30pm, and the whole building/wharf was underconstruction, I had to climb under/over fences, and avoid being spotted by a security patrol! ahahah, Photography on the edge!

oh, sorry, used a 16mm Nikkor 2.8 fisheye for both shots.
