I posted a few of these to the Abandoned/Dilapidated thread, but the
money shot was not present. Guess which one it is, and feel free to
critique.
I had to admit that I enjoyed the location far more than I expected to.
The powerhouse alone is worth a couple of return visits, at least.
All shots from a Rebel XTi/400D with 18-55mm kit or 28-105mm USM.
CA is very evident in #3, showcasing just how cheap the kit lens is
for the XXXD-series cameras. Unfortunately, it's the widest lens I have,
and the widest I can yet afford.
This series is from an abandoned set of buildings of the Grand Trunk Railroad
Company, located in Michigan. These buildings are at least a half-mile from
the active part of the trainyards, but within easy spotting distance of numerous
residential homes. We believe these buildings were constructed during the
late-1800's or early-1900's, due to many indicators found within. The latest
operational record I found inside was dated around June, 1998.
