Looking for critique on this black and white shot.

http://www.marcderidder.com/Pics/blackandwhite2.htm

I took the shot while walking the dog using a Nikon FE with 28mm AIS lens and a green filter. The Kodak T-Max negative was scanned using a Nikon V as RGB and desaturated in Photoshop CS.

The lack of response must be due to the equipment you used. It cant' be the photo. That is probably one of the most artistic I've seen on the forums since I started here. Nice job.

I think it's very nice. I like the composure.
Sorry, I don't have much more to say though.

I could alway edit the description saying it was taken with a Canon and see whether I get more feedback ;) .

Thanks for your feedback.

I love it but I would also like to see it with a little more contrast. Maybe like this...
I don't know... Maybe to much now. : ) Great Shot!

nice pic. Not too many people appreciate the quality of film. The demise of the photographic world, everyone has a digital slr and everyone is a "pro"

Very nice, and nice grain. I prefer the original to the high contrast version just posted.

Nice pic of a lonely melancholy tree.

I have used a film slr -even this week- but i am switching to digi having tried various borrowed digitals over the last 2 years. In my pbase galleries I have a film version and digi version of the same shoot. Not identical shots mind you. I wanted to see the differences that day, and it worked. But about 2pm the digi Sony ran out of battery and about 2 hours later I ran out of film. I up 2 x 36 rolls of Kodak neg film, and filled up, deleted chaff, filled up again, deleted chaff again, on the digital. It was just like that, shoot and choose, for most of the day on the digi memory chip s(128mb + 64mb). I could have used 1 GB but there was none.

In certain parts the extra contast works, in other parts it appears too dark. However, difficult to judge on my works poor 15" business LCD. Will have another look at home.

Note that the best print I achieved from this shot has been on Somerset Velvet with increased contrast.

Can I retract my High Contrast input? : ) I am leaning more towards the origional now... good work again!
