To be honest, I dont remember how many stops between frames for that image......it all depends on light.

That is a low contrast landscape since the sun is not in the frame. Two, or maximum 3 shots would have sufficed to obtain the same (or probably better, if you touched your camera between shots) quality result.
The more shots the better in HDR is a myth that should start to be adreessed as wrong.
