Been trying to get a shot of this setup....but no matter how brightly lit I think my garage is, the camera disagrees. I refuse to use the flash. I wanted the "low f stop" affect. This one was probably one of my two faves from this shoot...and it's still nowhere near as good as what I imagined the final product would be. C&C welcome and wanted.

I would try to have the point of focus be the bullseye...all the lines draw your eye to it, but since it's not in focus the effect is lost.

i'll agree that there's too much focus on the flights and it's hard to get your eye off them.
otherwise, maybe a little ISO boost will bring our some dark detail but, it could be my monitor.
nice shot

Thanks. I'll keep your comments in mind. I like the concept, but haven't been happy with the results yet. I have a few pics where the focus is the bullseye, but they aren't much better. Maybe a higher f stop is needed?
Here's a sample of focus on the bullseye. This one is soft, too slow a shutter speed (1/25)for my handheld shot. ISO was at 1000. I appreciate the c&c. Might be time to drag out the tripod and the remote shutter release.

Are you using a hot shoe flash? If so, set the customer fucntion for flash to be set to Average rather than evaulative. Or bump up your FEC a bit

I like the second one better but I agree the 'softness' you referred to may be due to your shutter speed. I would try to bounce a flash on this I bet it would work great that way.
