sometimes something happens the computer screen by day I know just what you mean! That's why, when you calibrate the monitor, it's done in the light that you ALWAYS work under. Otherwise, the results may be off when you make prints or when other people look at them. There's so much to remember, isn't there?! ;)

rain here may not help Frank I've had days like that. In fact, I'm about to have one today - I was going to cut my grass, but they've predicted up to 6" of snow tonight!

I have my computer in a room with the windows heavily draped so no outside lights get in & the environment remains constant. Try this, look at a pic at night with the room lights turned on. Then turn them all off. See a difference?
Also, monitors "age" & change, so it's recommended that you recalibrate your monitor about once a month. Some people do it every day! (Way too picky for me!) ;-)

not sure if I noticed any difference Frank
I seemed to see them the same in the dark (on screen) as with the light on .

the flowers look great to me now, in the daylight ,
as they did really ever since I mentioned about it

maybe my eyes need calibrating:lol:

Thanks Frank

not sure if I noticed any difference Frank Probably too much time in between. Try this in PS: Hit the F key twice & the Tab key once. Look at the pic & hit the F key to cycle between the black background & the gray one. You should see a slight difference in how the pic appears. (not much!) It's sort of the same thing that I think is causing your "something happens the computer screen by day" problem.

PhotosGuy

Thank you. Actually she going to get a pic taken with my aunt on my aunts 80th birthday last month. I don't know where she's going to put it. She's got them everywhere! ;-)

Thank you, LadyHawk! While I did fudge (technical term!) the lighting, that's just the way they were growing. I'm glad that everyone enjoyed them.

Yep, once a post slips beyound about the 3rd or 4th page, chances are it's gone, unless someone runs across it and it really strikes a cord with them.

I like how the darker background lets the yellow of the Daffs stand out. Maybe a little diffused lighting would have helped (I carry a 12" Lite Disc diffuser with me that folds up to about 4") but still excellent color. I have a hard time getting down that low anymore... well, it's easy getting that low, but it's hard getting back up. :D

Frank ,
I am not sure what you mean by PS here and which F key to hit

thanks

Sorry, PS = PhotoShop. Hit any F key you can find on your keyboard! ;-)

Afterthought. You don't need the "Tab" key to see similar results, but I think it helps to remove the distractions.

Thanks Jay, & mjordan.

I just thought of it being photoshop after I sent the question Frank
I was replying saying that when your reply hopped in at the same time
with the result the screen here went onto a blank.
the replies must have clashed right at the same moment
I left it then as I had to go out anyway

I can't think how it never occured to me as I know what PS means

but it didn't strike a chord this time for some reason

thanks
