Anybody here photograph water towers? I'm from NC, lots of water towers here. New ones and a ton of old towers. Thought about just traveling around to alot of the smaller towns that still use the same water tower that they used 40 years ago and shoot them.

My aunt shot water towers from the mid west, but I haven't seen it done in a while. Most of the water towers we have here in MD are pretty much cookie cutter of each other.

Here in NE Indiana the water towers seem to be the same also.

I have seen a few painted more creatively then others, some no doubt done by local high schoolers :)

They paint tree silhouettes on towers here in the Pacific NW, in an effort to get them to blend in with the surroundings I guess. It doesn't really work, of course, but it might make an opportunity for some interesting photos now that I think about it. Maybe I'll try some in the near future.
